From the Preface: The development of some of the techniques used in computer graphics relies on a wide range of mathematical methods for curve and surface fitting. Since access to computers requires very little training in mathematics, many of these methods may not be easily understood by the great variety of people who are now able to use powerful computing equipment. The purpose of this book is to reveal to the interested (but perhaps mathematically unsophisticated) user the foundations and major features of several basic methods for curve and surface fitting that are currently in use. | |
