The International Symposium on the Three-Body Force in the Three-Nucleon System was held at the George Washington University in Washington, D. C. on April 24-26, 1986. It was attended by 122 physicists from 58 universities and national laboratories in 14 countries. The goals of the Symposium were to review the subject of three-body nuclear physics, to focus sharply on the three-body-force aspects of this subject, aad to formulate a program of experiment aad theory in this field for the next five years. The subject matter of the Symposium was divided into four regimes:1) the bound-state properties,2) the long-wavelength region,3) the intermediate-energy region,4) short-range phenomena. | |
